If the music is too loud, you're too old.

Oh Ellie, how you shine.

Don’t believe the hype? Honestly, I think we should. Most of the blogging world have been munching on about Ellie Goulding‘s angelic voice for the best part of 2009 and rightly so. And now, as her name is on most of those ‘hot in 2010’ lists, it’s clear Polydor sat up and took note. I stumbled across this ‘Introduction to Ellie Goulding’ EP type thing on iTunes and decided it was worth the purchase. There is a brief interview where she discusses her writing process and her home and pop influences and the ole, always neccessary process of ‘self discovery’. She also expresses her excitement about headlining gigs and people ‘knowing her songs’. She really is an incredibly personable character, very real and endearing which suits her voice and music. The aesthetic of the video interview and her performances of ‘Wish I Stayed’ and ‘Roscoe’ is possibly an insight into the vision Polydor have for her… Desaturated, beautifully lit studios with a very relaxed looking Ellie, tousled hair and raggy denim shirt.

Bring on 2010 and this highly anticipated album.
