If the music is too loud, you're too old.

I want….

Stephen Sprouse. Amazing.. Credited with pioneering the 1980s mix of “uptown sophistication in clothing with a downtown punk and pop sensibility”, he was one of the most influential designers of his time, dressing the likes of Debbie Harry and working with Marc Jacobs.

As a homage to this fine artist, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs have just launched their ‘Tribute to Stephen Sprouse”. Now, I wouldn’t be a huge fan of Louis Vuitton. The label would fall short of my top five designers but this collection (below) is certainly a step in the right direction.

Shortly after Jacobs became artistic director for Louis Vuitton he came across a bag previously owned by Serge Gainsbourg. It had been painted black but where the paint had been rubbed off, out shone the iconic Louis Vuitton canvas. Inspired by this merging of something iconic being tainted in changed, he called on Sprouse to come to Paris and work on Louis Vuittons 2001 Spring/Sumer Collection. They worked closely for six months and produced an amazing line.

In 2009, following Sprouse’s death, Louis Vuitton have launched their tribute collection. A beautful combination of Louis Vuittons signature canvas and Sprouse’s iconic graffiti and loud floral patterns.
