If the music is too loud, you're too old.

A New Breed of Crystal Cat?

State Magazine have just posted a link to a sneak peek of Dan Deacons forthcoming album, Bromst which is due for release on the 24th of March. This album is meant to be ‘more mature, darker and organic’ according to the Baltimore musician. Deacon recently debuted a 15 piece band in NY at one of his famous live shows where he tested some of his new material. His band is made up of percussionists, electonic and stynth dj’s and guitarists. Deacon kept alot of his old show alive, enticing the crowd to run around in circles and make formations to run in and out of… He has said he wants to keep this as part of his new show, “I want it to be more of an organic erosion from that, have it grow and come back and fade away. I don’t want it to just be like, I’m done with that.” (http://blogs.villagevoice.com). Having been to one of his shows before, I would be very intrigued to see what sort of atmosphere this change of method offers.

The song, Get Older from Bromst isn’t exactly a world away from the likes of Wham City or Crystal Cat which would beg the questioning of how much his music stylings have developed. Personally, I hope they don’t change too dramatically. I loved his debut album, Spiderman of the Rings. Roll on March 24th!

Listen to him here.
